The Emorimor Papa Iteso, His Royal Highness Paul Sande Etomeileng Emolot is in Mombasa Kenya for the 5th Ateker International Development Organization convention. The convention premised on culture, ubuntu and reparation started on Wednesday May 24, 2023 and is set to close on Sunday May 28, 2023. Police have deployed heavily in the major roads leading to Soroti city and events places in anticipation of the planned opposition demonstration. The demonstration is being organized by Soroti City Woman MP Joan Alobo Acom. The Ngora district woman Member of Parliament has finalized a disbarment of 155 million shillings to different savings groups in Ngora district. Speaking during the last disbarment to 34 groups in the two sub counties of Agirigiroi and Kapir, at Akisim primary school, Hon Apollo stella Isodo said the money is to act as a village bank for the people of Ngora especially those in the savings group. SOROTI – The Inspectorate of Government on Tuesday May 16, 2023 arrested two Soroti district officials over corruption and abuse of office. The two officials are the acting district engineer, Alex Oriekot, and the District Education Officer, Mr James Oede. The duo are meant to appear before the Anti-corruption court. The Vice President of Uganda Jessica Alupo has said that cabinet will address the challenges faced by medical Interns including allowances.
