Pallisa FM radio station owned by MP Derrick Orone of Gogonyo County in Pallisa district is on spot for non-issuance of work contracts to its radio staff.
A staff member who worked under the radio before he left told our reporter he worked with the Pallisa based radio from its establishment in 2022 but he wasn’t issued with a work contract.
He also blamed the radio management for not considering the welfare of its staff while alleging that this has since led to the massive exodus of some radio personalities including Comedian Dolopiko who has since joined Mama Bukedea.
Others also include; Okol Emmanuel (Simple Emma), Dj Rolla among others.
This is not the first time Pallisa FM has come into spotlight, comedian Dolopiko Opado on February 23, 2023 through a statement issued by Emuria TV via its social media page claimed that the proprietor of Pallisa FM convinced him into resigning from his work at Voice of Teso offering him a better offer but didn’t pay him for close to one year.
When contacted for a comment MP Derrick Orone said in a chat that, “Let them show you working contracts with the station. Then you send me here, is when I can do the interview,” before referring our staff to speak with the station manager, “Deal with the station manager thanks.”
The radio station manager Kenneth Orone when approached on phone said, “I think the allegations that you have got are baseless, null and void. I don’t know any former staff that you’re talking about.”
“Being on air doesn’t mean you’re a staff.” he added.
