The Soroti City West MP Jonathan Ebwalu has revealed that he is among the top admirers of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) founding President and four time Presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye.
Ebwalu without naming other top admirer’s of Dr. Besigye made the remarks while appearing on the popular morning breeze show at NBS Television on Wednesday morning.
According to Ebwalu, Besigye is a politician who has always made outright decisions in the governance of Uganda, based on the prevailing reasons and factors on Uganda’s political landscape.
It must be noted that when Hon Ebwalu fell sick Dr. Besigye was among the leaders who visited him and offered him support.
It’s not clear if Ebwalu the former FDC member will contest under the FDC in the next elections or will run as an independent under FDC leaning.
During the December 2020 interview Ebwalu had noted that he was expelled by the Forum for Democratic Change Party leadership in Soroti because they disagreed on principle.
In that interview Ebwalu said he loved the FDC party with all his heart and this love made the top leaders to expel him.
The District Party leadership had faulted Ebwalu, former Party Chairperson John Enomu and Electoral commission chair Geoffrey Ochana for holding an illegal party Primaries that saw Soroti Municipality MP Hebert Edmund Ariko become victorious against Moses Okia Attan in 2016.
Ebwalu and Amuriat have come a long way and to Ebwalu their relationship is not about politics.
After winning the 2021 January Polls FDC recalled Ebwalu and appointed him head of mobilization Teso.

On the other hand Ebwalu has asked first Son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba to resign from the army if he wants to actively participate in the politics of Uganda.
Ebwalu said, “If Muhoozi wants to participate in the elections, my advice, he should resign from the army and come out and face other political players.”
He added that, “We have a total breakdown of institutions in the country. Anyone can wake up, make statements contrary to the law and get away with it.”
Ebwalu also castigated the Ministers and MPs trapped in the iron sheets scandal while asking President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to crack the wipe.
“I expected the President to make a strong statement on the issue of the iron sheets scandal the day he addressed the 11th Parliament. I have seen ministers being sacked for mismanaging state resources. I have said this before; all these ministers who are involved in the iron sheets scandal should return the iron sheets and also be prosecuted,” he said.
“All these ministers mentioned in the iron sheets saga should have been asked to step aside by the President or themselves stood aside to allow for the investigations. They shouldn’t even be appearing before Parliament.”
