Halcyon high School and Jeressar high School Soroti have proved to be the best performing schools in the just released 2022 A’level results.
In the last batch of national examination results after Primary Leaving and Uganda Certificate of Education results that were released last month, both Halcyon and Jeressar performed excellently.
In Halcyon High School the best two performing candidates got both 19 points while in Jeressar the best candidate got 20 points out of 20.
In Halcyon High School the best students included; Morris LED 19 points, Salume Apolot HED 19 points and Elilu Nathan 18 PEM while in Jeressar the best performers were; Oscar Opiyo 20 points PCM, Kemis Sabir PCM, Osamuki Rodgers BCM, Okello Nathan PEM and Akwii Esther Lillian HLD all scored 17 points.
Halcyon High school sat 187 students.

Paul Mark Onyait the Head teacher of Halcyon high school attributed the best performance to the collective efforts and hard work by both students, parents and Teachers.
He added the school has performed well this year compared to the past three years.
He also hailed Parents of Halcyon high school for paying school fees in time that helped them to handle their students without disturbance.
Bertha Asekenye the Head Teacher of Jeressar high school while speaking to our reporter revealed that the school has performed well compared to other years.
She noted that, as Jeressar, they cherish God to whom she believed that made them to perform well in the 2022 UACE results.
She has however appealed to S.6 candidates of various schools in the country to emulate Opio Oscar in order to achieve their dreams.

According to Uneb, 97,890 candidates sat the 2022 UACE examination from 1,969 centres across the country as compared to 98,392 candidates from 1,952 centres in 2020.
On Friday, the state minister for higher education John Muyingo advised students who failed the exams to repeat S6 or embrace other tertiary institutions.
