The Opposition Uganda People’s Congress headed by Pascal Amuriat and former FDC flag bearer for Serere District Agnes Asegge have joined the independent Emmanuel Omoding’s campaign team.
While addressing gatherings in both Olio and Serere town council, Mr. Amuriat Pascal the former Soroti City East UPC candidate said that they (UPC) have decided to join the campaign team for Omoding saying that he is the only candidate among the five who can rightfully replace his late father.
He noted that Omoding has been working closely with his late father and believes that Omoding is a perfect candidate.
Asegge on her part said that for continuity in late Okabe’s projects the people of Serere need to vote for the son of Late Okabe.
The Serere County MP Aspirant Emmanuel Omoding in his part has said that he will work with all political parties including NRM Party and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni once elected to lead the people of Serere.
He has also retaliated his earlier commmitment to advocate for the tarmacking of Kumi – Ngora – Serere – Kwagara road and also tarmacking of Soroti – Serere road.
“I am going to continue from where my father stopped, i will be in a position to speak to my friends in Australia to support me to change this County. We must save money in order to chase away poverty and if we have money in our households, it will be easy for us to handle other basic needs,” Omoding also said.
“When Papa was alive he used to tell me to come home and work for you and here I am ready to work with you and develop you. Several things are going to change in this place,” Omoding added.
He also told voters while meeting some of then in their various homes never to trust political propagandists who are claiming that he will be flying to Australia after winning elections
Electoral Commission has set February 23, 2023 as polling day.
