The NRM leaning Candidate for Serere County by-election has on Tuesday kicked off Village to Village campaigns in his bid to win the seat formerly occupied by his father now the late Patrick Okabe who died on December 19, 2022.
Omoding begun his day two campaigns on Tuesday morning as he visited various villages, Asilang Parish in Atiira Sub-county.
Omoding believes that by reaching out to every individual in the villages, he will ably win their hearts ahead of the February 23, 2023 by-election.
“Our message is one of unity, irrespective of our different party affiliations. Votes are a debt of work. We have to pay that debt by delivering services to the people. Let’s all join hands and we work together so that we develop Serere,” Omoding said as he interacted with locals.
“My first assignments if elected to parliament are to ensure that Soroti – Serere road and Kumi – Ngora – Serere to Kagwara are tarmaced, our health centre facility building completed and ensure that we have sufficient safe water for our people.” Omoding emphasized.
Omoding revealed to excited and receptive locals that by voting him to Parliament, they will be sending a representative to lobby government in relation to sharing the national cake.
Speaking at the locals at various rallies, Charles Erimu the NRM chairperson Atiira Sub County blessed Omoding to go on and win the by-election set for February 23rd, to continue with the projects started by his father.
“God does not want people to cry twice and therefore let’s all vote for Omoding. Omoding was very wise man and he is alive through his son. Let us vote for him,” Erimu said.
John Esadu the Kyere Sub County chairman said death is stubborn for having taken away the life of the late Okabe Patrick but rallied voters to vote for continuity.
“Let’s all vote for him so that we can benefit from the government. We therefore need to send Omoding so that we can get the services we desire. “ he said.
The Odokai village LC1 chairman, Francis Eudu said all his fellow chairmen are rallying behind Omoding to ensure continuity.
“Omoding is going to complete the work that his late dad left behind. For the people of Odokai Village, let’s canvass for votes for Omoding because he is the best candidate to offer us great services. I urge you irrespective of your political affiliation to vote for service delivery which Omoding represents. I pledge my full support for Omoding.”
The Serere County seat fell vacant after its Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Omoding died in a road accident in December 2022.
