The Ngora District leadership both Political and Technical have agreed to work together in ending school dropouts amongst girls.
Okuna Geoffrey Nelson Senior Inspector of Schools Ngora district says that since its inception the district has registered progress in PLE performance but expressed worry over increasing case of school dropout amongst girls.
Okuna while attributing the good performance to relationship between parents and teachers said in 2021 the district got 121 first graders while in 2022 they got 150.
Okuna has however said they are working closely working with both politicians, parents and teachers to end early teenage marriages in the district.
Lazaro Okwakol the LCIII Vice Chairperson Odwarat Sub County appealed to the district education department to closely monitor schools for more better performance.
He said it’s so shameful to lead people who are failures.
Otim Sam the LCIII Ngora town council asked the education department to always consult other leaders before transferring teachers.
He has also promised to pass a by-law to request every school in Ngora town council to give sponsors to best performing students.
Mike Odongo the LCV Chairperson Ngora promised to contineously work with the education department to improve performance in the district.
Odongo also appealed to parents to avoid taking their children to schools that they don’t know their history I order to avoid their children’s being abused.
Stella Apolot Isodo the Woman MP Ngora noted that, as Leaders they have resolved to educate parents on the benefit of taking their children to school.
On LGBT+, MP Isodo asked parents to desist from working with schools whose intentions are not known to the people of Ngora.
Meanwhile there was joy amongst voters after MP Isodo donating Exercise books and mattresses to 150 best PLE candidates of 2022.
Deogracious Opolot the Head Teacher Apama Primary school commended MP Isodo for picking part of her salary to appreciate the learners.
Opolot also hailed Ngora parents for working tirelessly with the schools to better educational standards while encouraging them to always support schools by giving all necessary support to teachers.
