The Upper Nile Diocese of Reformed Anglican Church (RAC) has ordeined it’s first set of seven deacons to help in the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The ordained deacons include; Rev. Deacon Richard Francis Emuge, Rev. Deacon Robert Otelu, Rev. Deacon William Odongo, Rev. Deacon Ben James Obaan, Rev. Deacon Peter Abongosi, Rev. Deacon Julius Akol and Rev. Deacon Benard Akol.
Bishop Charles Okunya Oode the Bishop of Upper Nile Diocese of Reformed Anglican Church called upon the christians to welcome and support the deacons as they give God’s service in different localities across the region.
Retired canon Asanasio Maraka, one of the trainers points that the deacons were trained and equiped to understand the qualities of a good deacon and principals guiding their leadership.
Gen.Peter Elwelu, who was the guest of honour during the event, christians encouraged to serve God with much strength in order to inherit the kingdom of God.
He also challenged them to stop fighting other religions but rather work as one.
Bishop Okunya broke away from the Anglican Church of Uganda after his appointment as Bishop was canceled. He later joined RAC and was named the first Bishop of Upper Nile Diocese.
