Information from Kapelebyong District in Eastern Uganda indicates that, the yet to be identified person’s on Saturday night have again broken into Angerepo Health Centre II and made away property.
According to a statement released by the Kapelebyong District LCV Francis Akorikin the thugs also took drugs in the said facility.
“Yesterday night, Angerepo Health Centre was also attacked, drugs stolen. This now becomes the third health centre in Kapelebyong district to be attacked,” said Akorikin.
The motive of the attackers is not so clear but earlier findings indicate that the attackers are also interested in drugs.
“Over the last 2 weeks, we have registered brake in by a gang of thugs targeting health center twos . They have raided, Ajeleik HCII and Nyada HCII and yesterday night Angerepo HCII,” Akorikin added.
“As a district, we are drawing a series of security measures to deal with this issue very. I want to assure the people of Kapelebyong, my administration will defeat this gang. Working with communities and security agencies we will solve this wave,” Akorikin said.
According to some sources in Kapelebyong, the unknown attackers always raid the facilities at night using a vehicle.
TNN has since learnt that simillar cases of break-ins has been recorded in Amuria district in Akeriau, Abeko and Golokwara health centers.
Kapelebyong district has been battling cattle raids by their neighbors Karamojong who have continuously raided the district despite presence of the security.
