There is currently a sombre mood and grief at Impact Ministries Cathedral in Mbale as Christians await the return of the bodies of their founder Bishop also MP Serere County Patrick Okabe and his wife Christine Okabe arrive.
With few minutes to 9:00PM local time on Thursday evening, the bodies of the deceased loved ones were yet to arrive as a number of Church, friends, relatives and christians patiently waited.
For many of the followers Bishop Okabe and his wife have positively impacted they could not hold but cry as they waited for the caskets containing deceased bodies to arrive.
Okabe and his wife died on Monday after getting involved in a car accident in Budaka. There driver is still admitted but steadily recovering.
The last journey of Okabe and wife started at Parliament of Uganda on Thursday Morning to Impact Ministries where they will stay for a vigil before leaving for Iteso Cultural Union offices on Friday for ICU leaders to pay their respects and later proceed to Serere.
The Burial will be held on Saturday 24th December 2022.
At the Church compound, hundreds of mourners grieved as they waited to see the casket carrying the remains of the deceased bishop and his wife.

Some believers who spoke to TNN said Bishop Okabe and his wife’s death brings both sadness and hope to the Christians because they always taught them to be prepared while referring to Okabe’s Sunday teachings.
