A family in Tororo District is considering to sue Umeme for what they termed as negligence that led to the death of their son.
Charles Opendi succumbed to injuries on December 3, 2022 after he got struck by high voltage power lines on November 28, 2022.
Opendi had been admitted at Hope missionary hospital in Payangasi byt died on 3 December.
According to a family source efforts to reach the responsible authority over this high voltage wire have become futile as everyone they approach has given it a deaf ear.
The uncle to the deceased Oketcho Centurio says a family they are considering to sue Umeme and government for compensation of their son since the community had approached umeme company tororo which reffered them to Kampala but no action was been taken by either the company or it’s staff that led to the unfortunate incident
Magola Sub County chairperson Ojwang Obbo has made an appeal to the government to fix the power line which is very low and is a threat to human life.
