The leadership of Reformed Anglican Church – RAC Upper Nile Diocese has announced that the church is currently seeking for Uganda Shillings 702,208,000 for the construction of it’s first cathedral.
The Cathedral will host over 3000 christians and will be situated in Kumi District according to Bishop Charles Okunya Oode.
Bishop Okunya says they are currently trying to utilise all avenues of generating resources both from christians and well-wishers.
Materials for the construction of the first RAC Cathedral in Eastern and Nothern Uganda are being provided by christians, says Bishop Okunya.
TNN also understands that over 42 small churches are under construction including Totolim, Abosan in Kumi, Aligoi, Ngangam in Bukedea and Oluwa in Ngora among others.
Zerubabel Obilil, the chairperson construction of the Cathedral, emphasized need for christians and well-wishers to support the construction of the churches.
Kumi district Vice Chairperson Sam Akol said the construction of new churches by RAC will aid in eliminating conflict between RAC and COU over ownership of property.
