The Ministry of Health has said that Soroti and Mubende Regional Referral Hospitals will only receive the CT Scan Machines once their sites are completed.
In a statement the Ministry Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine said that Soroti and Mubende, will not receive the machines since the sites are not completed
“For Soroti and Mubende, the machines will be delivered when the sites are completed,” said Dr. Atwine in a tweet.
Dr Atwine says that CT Scanners produce detailed images of many structures inside the body for diagnosis of conditions i.e damaged bones, cancers, heart, lungs and liver diseases, tumors.
According to Dr Atwine so far, Entebbe, Jinja, Moroto, Hoima, Fort Portal and Mbale Regional Referral Hospitals have received the equipment.
She added that Masaka, Mbarara, Kabale, Gulu, Lira and Arua Regional referral hospitals are also to receive as distribution is ongoing.
Each Regional Referral hospital is to receive a CT scanner according to permanent secretary Ministry of health, Dr Diana Atwine.
