Acholi province suffered a 1-0 loss to West Nile Province in the first leg of their semifinal clash at Ababet Greenlight stadium in Arua City in the Fufa drum tournament on Sunday.
Ezra Bida, scored the only goal in the 53rd minute, giving the 2018 finalists an advantage ahead of the return leg slated for December 10th in Pece stadium, Gulu City.
Acholi Province, who are the reigning champions of the tournament was a better team in the first half but failed to capitalize on their chances.
The West Nile province head coach, Bosco Dudu told media that although they managed to win the game, there is still a need for more effort in the return leg if his team is to reach the finals.
Geoffrey Akena, the head coach of Acholi Province, said that although the team did not perform to his expectations, they will focus on the return leg.
Akena blamed the loss of his team on fatigue resulting from travel and congested fixtures, which did give them enough time to rest.
