The Police in Bukedea District have arrested a student of St.Theresa Secondary school- Okungoro for alleged Possession of government stores.
The case has been registered under vide CRB 534/2022 of Bukedea central police station.
The suspects are Paul Anguria, S1 student of St. Theresa Secondary School Okunguro and his father, Charles Muriat, both residents of Kasechi village, Malera Sub County in Bukedea district.
Preliminary findings into the matter indicate that on 01/11/2022 at around 4:30pm, the police of Bukedea were tipped that a student of St. Theresa Secondary school- Okungoro was in possession of bullets at the school premises.
The police consequently, visited the scene where three bullets were recovered and upon the conduct of a further search at the suspect’s place of residence 24 bullets were found and recovered.
SP Oscar Gregg Agecca the East Kyoga police Spokesperson confirmed the arrest noting that the two suspects are in custody to help with inquiries including but not limited to the source of these bullets.
“We want to warn the general public and reiterate the importance of not keeping or storing or being in possession of any items that is a preserve of the armed forces, as it’s a crime under the legal regime of the Republic of Uganda,” SP Agecca added.
