The controversial Amuria District Female Legislator Suzan Amero has said that it’s too early to start endorsing President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to run in the 2026 general elections.
Amero who stood as an independent candidate to win Amuria County Woman MP race after she lost the NRM flag to Rhoda Achen in 2021 polls made the remarks last friday during the endorsement of President Museveni by Teso Youth at Soroti Sports Ground.
According to Amero, it was a good move to endorse President Museveni for giving Teso high ranking positions in the country but the problem of scholarships being given to the rich while the poor are left to struggle for student loan schemes must be handled.
“When time comes i will endorse a right person but for now it’s still early. Besides that Muhoozi is also NRM,” Amero said amidst jubilation from a section of Youth.
On Friday over 2,000 NRM youths leaders who gathered at Soroti Sports Ground for PDM meeting endorsed President Museveni as NRM flag bearer for the 2026 polls.
Other leaders also including; Vice President Jessica Alupo, Foreign Affairs Minister Jeje Odongo, State Minister for Works Musa Francis Ecweru, Teso Affairs Minister Kenneth Ongalo, MPs Atuto Jacinta, Bosco Okiror, James Olobo, Jennifer Ayoo, Joseph Andrew Koluo, RDCs joined the youth in endorsing President Museveni’s 2026 bid.
NRM Youth accross the country have started rallying behind President Museveni while others are considering to support the First Son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Last week Muhoozi declared through his twitter handle that he was going to become the president in order to appease his mother.
