Hearing of election petitions at Soroti High Court will commence on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
The petitions are drawn from two sub regions of Teso and Karamoja.
According to the causelist seen by TNN, Justice Musa Sekaana will on November 1st, 2022 at 10:00AM hear an election petition filed by Moses Attan Okia against Herbert Edmund Ariko and two others over the alleged election malpractices.
The other case that will be heard is where the voters, Michael Enyangu Etadu and three others have dragged the Electoral Commission to Court over the legality of 5,000 voters from Aloet and Opiyai wards.
Justice Sekaana will also same date preside over the hearing of Toroma County where Solomon Ossiya Alemu dragged Joseph Andrew Koluo and the Electoral Commission to court over alleged voter bribery.
The Soroti High Court will also on November 14th, 2022 hear the petitions from the Dodoth East County MP election in Kaabong District where former MP, Samson Lokeris who lost with 11 votes, dragged the winner Emmanuel Komol, and the Electoral Commission to court over the alleged election irregularities.
Lokeris petitioned the court accusing the Electoral Commission of declaring Komol as the winner with 7,903 votes against his 7,892 votes.
In Abim, Johnny De West dragged the winner of the Abim LCV seat, Yuventine Omara to court on grounds that he did not resign from his employment in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces where he was serving as a Captain.
