The Ministry of Education in partnership with planet systems has delivered 204 mobile phones to schools in Tororo District.
The phones Techno Spark 8 and 9 are aimed at supporting the teacher’s and learner’s effectiveness in achieving government plans of automating the education sector through the TELA project.
The phones are meant for uploading attendance of teachers and quality of interactions with the learners.
Taabu Denis, the district inspector of schools, urged the head teachers to use the gadgets well while Joseph Owino, the education officer called on the head teachers to take note of matters of national importance with seriousness.
Walter Uryek Wun the senior hospital administrator at Tororo hospital who represented the chief administrative officer called the teachers who have reached their retirement age to focus early registration into the pension database.
Amula Albert the deputy Resident District Commissioner commended the ministry of education for automating the education sector.
Amula appealed to school heads to make good use of UPE funds to benefit the learners instead of focusing on their own interests.
