KATAKWI – The Vice President of Uganda H.E Jessica Alupo has encouraged women in Katakwi to always pray to God to protect President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as he leads the country through various income generating programs.
The Vice President made the remarks on Saturday morning in Magoro Sub County in Katakwi District where she was holding a consultative meeting with various women groups.
She also used the same meeting to interact with women on the progress of Parish development model, Emyooga and security.
Alupo says its only through President Museveni that development can be achieved in Teso Sub Region.
She commended the church for spiritually guiding the women in development programs while asking women leaders to keep reporting issues of raids to authorities in order for appropriate action to be taken by government.
Alupo retaliated her continued commitment in supporting girl child education while asking parents to keep their girls in school.
On Ebola, the Vice President encouraged people of Katakwi to report all Ebola related illness to health experts while asking the community to maintain hygiene.
State Minister for Ethics and Intergrity Rose Lilly Akello also asked Katakwi women to continue giving support to H.E Alupo to retain her 2026 bid.
Akello also further encouraged the women to use President Museveni’s leadership to develop their families saying no man will accept to stay with woman who doesn’t provide and supports him financially.
The Usuk Mp Bosco Okiror on the otherhand asked the women to work closely and further encourage their men to save for their families.
Meanwhile Rev. Fr. Moses Oreet of St. Simon Catholic Church promised to monitor every support from the government.
Catherine Ijangolet the president of mothers union of St Andrews anglican church in magoro asked the government to help the church clinic with cancer screening equipments.
