SOROTI – The First Paramount Chief for Iteso Cultural Union Papa Papyrus Imodot Edimu has revealed that he has not been invited for tomorrow’s third Emorimor’s coronation.
The Coronation of the third Emorimor Papa Paul Sande Emolot will take place tomorrow at Soroti Mayors’ Gardens.
While speaking to TNN at his residence in Soroti City Papa Imodot said that he was not happy with the management of ICU for not inviting him to attend the event.
Imodot says he was also not happy with the manner under which the elections of ICU were conducted.
He blamed both Mzee William Alloch Akol and Papa Paul Sande Emolot for disgracing the Ateker Culture.
Imodot was suceeded by late Augustine Osuban Lemukol in late 1990s. The position of the Emorimor fell vacant upon the demise of Augustine Osuban Lemukol on February 5.
Since then two factions emerged over who should be the interim Emorimor; the house of elders led by one of the founder ICU members, William Alloch fronted prime minister Augustine Omare Okurut to spearhead the transition as interim Emorimor, who was fought by the Paul Sande Emolot faction.
In protest, Mr Okurut and other cabinet ministers in the late Emorimor’s government accused Mr Emolot’s team of being uncivilized.
Mr Emolot’s faction in March appointed him the acting Emorimor, later climaxing it with his installation as Emorimor, which the other factions have challenged in the courts of law.
Emolot will be crowned on Saturday October 22 at Soroti sports ground.
By press time the ICU communications desk headed by Gabriel Opolot was not available for a comment.

I think next time any development like this comes up, Al stakeholders should unit for one course. All the iteso shouldn’t hijack associations in the name of getting a name that they became leaders but with corruption and impatiality.
