SOROTI – The Organizers for the enthronement of the 3rd Iteso Cultural Union Leader (Emorimor) His Highness Paul Sande Emolot are optimistic that Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will grace the Coronation of Emorimor next week.
Whereas State House hasn’t come out on the subject matter, Venansio Vance Omome the Iteso Cultural Union Prime Minister who is also the Chairperson Organizing Committee says the activity will be graced by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who will be accompanied by the Vice President Maj. Rtd. Jesica Alupo and other government Ministers.
Others present will be Teso Members of Parliament, Teso Local governments, political, civic and religious leaders, the Diaspora, business community and the general public.
The 2nd Coronation Ceremony of His Highness Emorimor Papa Iteso shall also be graced by Royals, Kings, Cultural Leaders Forum, senior government officials of both Uganda and Kenya, sister Afrikan Kingdoms and the Diaspora.
Omome has also asked the Iteso to disregard detractors trying to ferment hatred amongst the iteso.
Emolot will be coronated on Saturday 22nd October in Soroti City Sports Ground despite a series of uproar from ICU House of Elders.
The House of Elders through their lawyer Anthony Okanyum have petitioned the High Court in Soroti to halt the exercise citing irregularities in entire electoral processes.
The elders are sueing Emolot and ICU council speaker Francis Okuma.
HH Emolot will now succeed late ICU leader Papa Augustine Osuban Lemukol Emorimor who died in February 2022. He will become the third Emorimor.
Others who have held the seat include; HH Papyrus Imodot Edimu and Late HH Augustine Lemukol Osuban.

He was declared unopposed for Emorimor candidature by the Iteso Cultural Union EC Chairperson Dr. Charles Otim after closure of nominations on 12th July 2022.
He hails from the Ikuruk clan from Tororo which consists Teso South districts like Tororo, Mbale, Manafwa, Busia, Mayuge, Bugiri among others.
