KATAKWI – The Vice President of Uganda Her Excellency Jessica Alupo has donated relief items to schools in Katakwi District.
Alupo who is also Woman MP Katakwi delivered the items through her political Assistant and Administrator.
Among the items delivered included 40 tonnes of Posho and 20 tonnes of Beans to benefit about 112 both primary and secondary schools across the district.
She also gave support of 710 iron sheets for roofing of schools recently affected by heavy winds.
At the same event the VP’s office also gave support of 2000 spades to truck loaders and Drivers in Katakwi town.
The VP through Okello said she was aware of the burden the schools face during times of disasters thus affecting the learning process.
James Iisa, the chairperson Parents Teachers Association Getom Primary school said that the vice president’s donation has come at the right time parents were struggling to raise money for the building teachers’ houses and classrooms.
