KUMI: A suspected Cattle thief has been burnt to ashes by the angry mob in Kumi district.
The police yesterday 08/10/2022, at Kalungar village, Atutur Sub county, Kumi district registered a case of murder of yet to be identified individual.
According to East Kyoga Police Spokesperson SP Oscar Gregg Agecca, the case was registered under vide Atutur police station, SD REF 07/08/10/2022 and KUMI CRB CRB 632/2022.
“Preliminary findings indicate that on Saturday the 08/10/2022 at around 07:30AM information was received that there was un identified person burnt together with a motor vehicle at Kalungar village, kapokin parish, Atutur Sub county Kumi district. The residents suspected the motor vehicle and it’s occupant to be a cattle thieving ring.” Agecca said in a statement.
“We visited the scene, where we found a naked burnt dead body of yet to be identified male adult person under Toyota Noah vehicle registration number UAZ 272T white in colour. The motor vehicle was burnt beyond discernable recognition. The Body of the deceased was taken to Atutur hospital mortuary for postmortem. We also recovered some exhibits and are currently tracing for suspects in this incident.”
“We appeal to the general public to respect the laws as established by not carrying out extra judicial killings.”
